Considered by The Boston Globe (MA|USA) as the “Main exponent of Chamamé”, the Composer, Accordionist and Researcher Alejandro Brittes explores his Chamamé heritage, an ancestral rhythm born from the encounter between the ritualistic musicality and the worldview of the Original Peoples – The Guaranis – and the Baroque Music taught in the Jesuit Missions in a cultural macro-region that encompasses Argentina, central and southern Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Accordionist, composer, researcher and interpreter
In 2024, he performed 60 shows with the trio in the USA, including several training activities with Universities with the aim of sharing the culture of Southern Brazil. Alejandro is considered by scholars as one of the main references of Chamamé today (Mark Brill PHD in music from the University of Texas USA in his book Music of Latin America and the Caribbean). Also in 2023, Alejandro and his group played at the Library of Congress in WD – USA, becoming the first accordionist to play in this prestigious space.
